Pastor Valery writes: Ministry to the youth and the children is strategic to BLMF ministry. In our country, “youth” refers to those aged 18-30 year, so the span of ages for our outreach is broad and the Lord is at work! Moreover, the opportunity for Ukrainian Refugee outreach to youth and children presents a greater need for facilities.
One of the most effective ways to make disciples is via Bible camps. We now have just one Bible camp for youth and children in the summer time. This ministry is heavily dependent on weather conditions.
The Need: Currently, there is just a two-room building standing in the camp ground that is used as a kitchen and one room is used for one family with small children, since the camp children live in a “tent town” in the open air.
The Plan: We will construct a permanent building for a Bible Camp & Ministry Center. This will serve 25-30 people at a time, so that we could have opportunity for the ministry to the children and youth all the year round.
Your gift of any size will help build the $110k year -round ministry center for children, youth and adult ministry as well as to Ukrainian refugees.

More about Pastor Valery
Valery Hryhoryk is the director of Bible camps for children and youth in Belarus, the pastor of two Lutheran congregations, in Vitebsk and Orsha, Belarus, and founder of BLMF. He is married and has an 15-year-old son, Anton. His wife, Tanya, is a hairdresser.
After serving in the navy, in 1992, Pastor Valery became a Christian. After completing his university degree, Pastor Valery was actively involved in the translation and printing of, at that time, much needed Christian literature.
Pastor Valery studied theology in England for two years, where he became acquainted with Luther’s theology and the concept of salvation by grace. (At that time, everyone in Belarus believed in salvation by works). After his studies in England, he played an active role in the rebuilding of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Belarus, which was destroyed by the communists.
In 2004, Pastor Valery was called by God to be a pastor in the Evangelical-Lutheran Church of John the Baptist in Mazolovo village, Vitebsk district. In 2005, he founded the Belarus Lutheran Missionary Fellowship (BLMF), a mission to restore the historical Lutheran Church in Belarus. He contacted EEMN Director Bill Moberly in early 2006 to request partnership. Soon after, Pastor Valery founded Good Book Publishers with the aim of translating, printing and distributing quality Lutheran materials. In 2022, BLMF joined ALWM as a ministry partner, resuming our work together that began in 2006. For information on how to partner with Pastor Valery and BLMF, write blmf@alwm.org! Pastor Valery can meet with your leaders via zoom by mutual arrangement.
