Where We Work:

cambodia

Pastor pich (Samuel) Chim & alwm cambodia

Cambodia has a population of nearly 17 million people, with 18 different people groups. It is 83% Buddhist and only 2% Christian. The country is still recovering from the devastation wrought by Pol Pot and the Khmer Rouge from 1975-1979, and the subsequent civil war that extended into the 1990’s. In contrast to its neighbors, Cambodia has a constitutional monarchy with freedom of religion. there is great opportunity for ministry!

Currently ALWM Cambodia includes more than 12 ministries including house churches, the Island Mission School, and the new mission school in Preh Vihear. In May 2023, we dedicated the new school in Preh Vihear Province, which has 160+ students in grades 6-9. In addition, there are 50 cell groups in a neighboring country. Cell group ministry, as well as children and youth ministry are all very effective and bearing fruit, as does their Rice and Wells ministry. ALWM sponsored the first national youth gathering for ALWM Cambodia in 2018, and the second one will be in November, 2023.

There are many opportunities for partnership with this vibrant ministry! For more information write pastorbill@alwm.org.

  • Cambodia: Youth & Leadership Ministry Training Center

  • Cambodia: Feed a Family

$25 provides 25 kg of rice, 6 bottles of soy sauce & 6 bottles of fish sauce feeding a family of four at least four months.

  • Cambodia, Vietnam & Laos: “Clean Water / Living Water” Wells & Filtration

$850-1000+ builds a new well &/or water filtration system for a partner church, providing clean water to hundreds weekly in the church and community.

  • Cambodia: Cows for Clergy

$600 buys a cow for our ministry team in Cambodia. They raise cattle to generate support for ongoing ministry. They currently have 20. Our goal is 100!

  • Cambodia: Preh Vihear Mission School Computer Lab

$400 buys a refurbished business laptop from Tech Soup - (Resources for non-profits) to teach computer skills to middle school students. We need 12!
