Vietnam 2024- Team Update 3
Monday we had a long, beautiful drive back to Ho Chi Minh City after the weekend of ministry in Khanh Vinh and the Nha Trang area.
Tuesday we began the day having breakfast with Pastor Sam Chim, our good friend and ministry partner from Cambodia, who came to HCMC so we could spend the day together in planning and fellowship. He shared about his ministry with our team. This was a particularly special time for Sue and Vicki, whose SD congregation has supported several key projects in Cambodia over the years. They have heard a lot about him from me for a long time, and seen photos, but had never met him in person! It was an encouraging time of fellowship!
Tuesday afternoon we visited the offices of Vietnam Fellowship of Evangelical Students. VFES is the counterpart to Inter-varsity Christian Fellowship in the US, doing college ministry across the country. National Director Pastor Tu is a friend of mine and our ministry. They hosted a gathering for college students to meet with our team for cross cultural friendship building and encouragement in faith. Walking with Christ as young adults in a predominantly Buddhist nation, some as the only believer in their family, is a difficult but joyful journey. We had a wonderful time with some welcoming, courageous and engaging young men and women! No one wanted to stop when the meeting was officially over, and everyone had a memorable time! We will connect again in 2025!
